The Art-Hotel Charlottenburger Hof is a personally run 3 stars hotel (DeHoGa classification). Built in 1895 as residential building, since 1950 the house was run by the owners as a hotel in the style of a traditional pension. In 1984 Mr. Martin Mumme bought the building and made year by year a lot of investments to adapt the hotel to the needs of nowadays and the todays level of technology. The result is a modern furnished hotel in a traditional building, a restaurant working 24 hours a day, a courtyard with mediterranean terrace and a modern equipped conference room for up to 25 persons. The last investment was a computer network and computers in all guestrooms which enable our guests to surf in their rooms - and for free. In 1986 Mr. Dieter Hanauer became Mr. Mummes manager. Since the 90s he developed and realized an art conception inspirated by the Classical Modernism and the Bauhaus philosophy. Similar to a gallery he presents posters of the work of art of Kandinsky, Miró, Picasso and Dalí in the corridors. Other painters works of Classical Modernism adorn the guestrooms. All these pictures are embedded in an ensemble of colourful and artstically designed details and establish together with them the charming and individual atmosphere and personality of the Art-Hotel Charlottenburger Hof.
